DESCRIPTION:Proposals to host the 2028 International XAFS Conference are no
 w solicited and accepted. Proposal guidelines are given below\, but if you

 @fc.ritsumei.ac.jp \n\n\n\nProposal GuidelinesThe proposal submitted for t
 he conference can be made by email to the Chair by email and should includ
 e the following information.\n\n\n\n\nDescription of Proposed Conference V
 enueThe conference proposal should include a description of the details ab
 out the venue for the conference (based on the 600 participants\, the aver
 age number of recently held conferences)\, including:\n\n\n\n\n\nOne confe
 rence room for plenary sessions\, accommodating 600 or more attendees.\n\n
 \n\nAdditional space for at least 200 posters\, poster presenters\, and su
 fficient room for attendees to view and discuss posters.\n\n\n\nAdditional
  conference rooms for parallel sessions which can accommodate at least 200
  attendees each. Close proximity of rooms is to be secured for parallel se
 ssions.\n\n\n\nProjection and PA systems appropriate for a scientific conf
 erence in all conference session rooms.\n\n\n\nOne or more small meeting r
 ooms for IXAS-EC\, IUCr Commission on XAFS\, and related executive meeting
 s\, which accommodates at least 30 attendees.\n\n\n\nThe main conference r
 ooms are preferred to be climate-controlled.\n\n\n\nCompliance with local 
 regulations for disability access.\n\n\n\n\n\nDescription of OrganizationT
 he conference proposal should name expected members of the conference orga
 nization including Chair(s). The conference organizers should form appropr
 iate committees with different functions such as Local Committee\, Program
  Committee\, and International Advisory Committee\, and the proposal shoul
 d name some of the expected members of these committees. Please include:\n
 \n\n\n\n\nCV and profile of the conference chair(s)\n\n\n\nLetter(s) of co
 mmitment for host institution(s) and any other supporting institutions.\n\
 n\n\nProposed List of Local Committee members fully committed to the organ
 ization of the conference.\n\n\n\nProposed List of Program Committee membe
 rs representing all relevant fields and topics.\n\n\n\nProposed list of Fu
 ndraising Committee.\n\n\n\nProposed List of an International Advisory Com
 mittee formed by the IXAS-EC members and other distinguished scientists se
 lected by Conference Organizers taking into account regional and scientifi
 c balance.\n\n\n\nPlan for circulating conference information to XAFS comm
 unities (Web site etc.).\n\n\n\n\n\nScope and Proposed Scientific ProgramT
 he conference proposal should describe the scope of the scientific program
  for the conference\, including\n\n\n\n\n\nexpected number of parallel ses
 sions.\n\n\n\nfields or special topics to be highlighted\n\n\n\nplans for 
 any satellite meetings (scope\, locations\, and expected number of attenda
 nts).\n\n\n\nlist of supporting organizations (institutes and academic soc
 ieties).\n\n\n\nexpected plans for an exhibition.\n\n\n\nexpected tours of
  nearby scientific facilities.\n\n\n\n\n\nDescription of Infrastructure an
 d Logistical PlanThe conference proposal should provide a list of sufficie
 nt accommodations close to the conference venue\, with a range of prices a
 nd an approximate number of rooms available. Transportation options betwee
 n the conference venue and accommodation sites\, restaurants\, regional at
 traction sites\, social events sites\, etc. should also be given\, as well
  as a description of transportation between airports or train stations and
  conference venue.\n\n\n\nPreliminary Budget DraftPlease include projectio
 ns of the total cost\, income breakdown\, supports from institutes and oth
 er organizations\, and start-up plan. Expected ranges for registration fee
 s should be given. Also provide any expected details about support for you
 ng scientists\, scientists from developing countries\, and so forth.\n\n\n
 \nPlans for PublicationConference Organizers should circulate the full con
 ference program to all registered attendees prior to the conference. Confe
 rence Organizers are responsible for publishing Conference Proceedings wit
 h guidance and assistance from the IXAS. It is recommended that the procee
 dings are published in Radiation Physics and Chemistry as first choice or 
 J Synchrotron Radiation as second choice.
