DESCRIPTION:This workshop is intended to familiarize participants with basi
 c concepts of material characterization such as evaluation of textures and
  residual stresses in materials from their neutron diffraction patterns. I
 t will include lectures and detailed demonstration of the Steca software t
 ool to analyse the 2D-detector data of neutron strain scanner STRESS-SPEC 
 and x-ray materials diffractometers\, to obtain peak positions\, widths\, 
 and intensities\, which will then be exported and processed to calculate s
 trains/stress and texture. The participants will have the possibility to g
 ain experience in using this software at a beginner's level and learn to i
 nterpret the analytical results on practical examples.
